IT Sector Looks Promising for MBAs

Understanding the current market trends in recruitment is always essential to make career advancements plans. It is even more relevant now, as the pandemic has created much chaos in the job market. The recently published Corporate Recruiters Survey conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) gives enough insight into the topic.

The 2021 Corporate Recruiters Survey predicts a robust demand for business school graduates. As many as 9 in 10 corporate recruiters find that the requirement of MBA graduates will increase or remain stable in the next five years.

The disruption caused by COVID-19 had affected recruitments a great deal in the year 2020. The 80% of actual hiring of MBA graduates in 2020 was much lesser than the 92% of expected hiring. But according to the survey report, the proportion of recruiters planning to hire MBAs in 2021 is 91%. It is a sure indication that the recruitment scenario is taking a u-turn to the pre-pandemic years.

96% of tech recruiters are projecting to hire MBA graduates in 2021.

The technology industry is the one that is to look out for when it comes to recruitment this year. The prediction is for the demand to rise 10% in the sector compared to the pre-pandemic year. 96% of tech recruiters are projecting to hire MBA graduates in 2021. It makes 2021 the year that tops the demand for MBAs compared to the last three years.

“The tech companies who did not come to campus for recruitment last year are planning to visit us for the process much early than the usual time. Students are already receiving PPOs / PPIs based on their Summer Internship performances. It is very promising”, says the placement-in-charge of a leading B school in New Delhi.
